Must I be completely undressed?

For the most part, massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear.

You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session. It is helpful to know that the areas of your body that are in most discomfort benefit more efficiently from direct contact i.e neck, back, shoulders, legs, arms.

ACE Massage Cupping is a modern form of cupping therapy that blends modern massage techniques with the ancient art of cupping therapy. By creating suction and negative pressure, ACE Massage Cupping therapy is used to soften tight muscles, tone attachments, loosen adhesions, lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.

What is Trigger Point Therapy?

Trigger points are a hypersensitive part of the muscle, causing intense pain. Trigger Point Therapy is one very useful part of neuromuscular therapy. The objective of trigger point therapy is releasing or softening a muscle knot to reduce (or eliminate) the knot pain and associated pain. This release happens by applying various levels of pressure to muscle knots, and then stretching the affected areas through a complete range of motion.

What should I do during the massage or bodywork session?

Prior to the massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session.

During the massage, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm).

Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session.

If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.

How will I feel after the massage or bodywork session?

Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity.

After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.

When should I avoid getting a massage?

Massage treatment is non-invasive, relaxing, and natural. It is therefore generally considered a safe treatment for most people. However, there are times when extra precautions must be taken. As well as, times when massage is not as beneficial.

In general, there are a few conditions that would prevent you from getting a massage. Of course, do not schedule an appointment if you are feeling unwell, have a fever, cold, or a skin condition that is contagious. If you have a serious medical condition and you are unsure if a massage would be safe for you, massage therapists will recommend that you speak with your primary care provider to get approval first.
