If you’ve never visited a professional Massage Practitioner before, you’re bound to have lots of questions or concerns. Below, you’ll find a list of several frequently asked questions from my patients. Connect with me today for more information.

Must I be completely undressed?

For the most part, massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear.

You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session. It is helpful to know that the areas of your body that are in most discomfort benefit more efficiently from direct contact i.e neck, back, shoulders, legs, arms.

What is an OHT Signature Massage?

 What is Swedish Massage?

The Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massages you can get. It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping and rolling. Massage oil or lotion is used to protect the skin from friction.

What is Trigger Point Therapy?

Trigger points are hypersensitive areas in a muscle that can cause intense pain. Trigger Point Therapy, a key aspect of neuromuscular therapy, aims to release or soften these muscle knots to reduce or eliminate associated pain. This is achieved by applying varying levels of pressure to the trigger points and then stretching the affected areas through a complete range of motion.

What is Neuromuscular Massage Therapy?

Neuromuscular massage therapy is a specialized form of manual massage that involves using digital pressure and friction to release areas of strain in a muscle. It's a targeted approach designed to address specific muscle tension by focusing on the connection between nerves and muscles. This technique aims to provide relief and promote overall well-being.

What parts of my body will be massaged?

If you choose a full-body session your massage/bodywork session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, neck, shoulders, and scalp (if requested).

How will I feel after the massage or bodywork session?

Once the massage magic kicks in, it's not just relaxation—many folks wave goodbye to those nagging aches and pains that come from daily stress or repetitive activities.

And here's the cool part: After that initial slowdown, get ready for a surge in energy, heightened awareness, and a productivity boost that lasts. It's like hitting refresh for your body and mind, setting you up for days of feeling on top of the world.

What should I do during my massage with Adriane?

Before we dive into the massage magic, feel totally free to ask me anything about the technique or what to expect during our session. Your comfort and understanding are key!

Once we're in the session, make yourself at home. I might gently guide your movements or let you know what's coming up, like if I need you to lift your arm or make a small adjustment. It's all about you feeling at ease.

Most folks like to close their eyes and fully relax. If there's anything on your mind during the session—whether it's about pressure, wanting an extra blanket, or anything else—just give me a little nod or let me know. I'm here for you!

What is myofascial release therapy?

Myofascial release is a fantastic alternative therapy with a range of benefits. It's like a reset button for your muscles! By targeting muscle immobility and pain, it works wonders in relaxing contracted muscles, enhancing blood and lymphatic circulation, and even giving the stretch reflex in muscles a little nudge.

It's a holistic approach that considers not just the muscles but the fascia—the connective tissue that wraps around and supports them. This therapy aims to release tension and promote overall well-being. If you're dealing with muscle issues or looking for a way to enhance your body's natural healing processes, myofascial release could be a great fit.
